Veteran Disability

The firm's Veteran Disability practice focuses on assisting veterans who have chosen to appeal the VA's disability and compensation rating decision. Although Congress wrote the laws governing VA disability to be veteran friendly, they are often interpreted incorrectly by the Department of Veterans Affairs. That is where assistance by a VA accredited attorney can be extremely beneficial. At Price, Hamilton and Price, we understand just how difficult it is to go through the VA disability and compensation process. With that understanding, we are committed to helping veterans successfully navigate the VA appeals process so that they may receive all that they deserve.

FAQs

I just received my VA Rating Decision Letter and I was not awarded a disability rating, what do I do now?

If you disagree with the VA's decision you have up to one year to file a Notice of Disagreement. The Notice of Disagreement initiates your VA Appeal. After submitting your Notice of Disagreement to the VA, you may hire a VA accredited attorney to assist you with your appeal.

I just received my VA Rating Decision Letter and my rating is too low, what do I do now?

If you believe that your disability rating is unfairly low, you may initiate an appeal by filing a Notice of Disagreement. After submitting your Notice of Disagreement to the VA, you may hire a VA accredited attorney to assist you with your appeal.

I haven't filed my disability claim yet, can I hire Price, Hamilton & Price to help me with my original VA claim?

Unfortunately, no. In order for a VA accredited attorney to charge fees for representation before the VA, an agency of original jurisdiction (AOJ) must have issued a decision on a claim and the veteran must have filed a notice of disagreement (NOD), with respect to that decision.
